Why CouchDB faded
CouchDB faded from hype because MongoDB marketed easier developer ergonomics for the same document pitch. Couch's replication model was ahead of its time for edge sync; most teams just wanted CRUD at web scale. It survives in PouchDB lineages, not board decks.
