Why Python stuck
Python stuck because readable syntax lowered the floor for scientists, students, and ops refugees alike. NumPy, Django, and PyTorch built moats no syntax fad could breach. Packaging finally consolidated around uv — a Rust toolchain OpenAI bought with Astral — while the language stayed slow on purpose and fast enough for where the industry actually spends money.
